DOZENS INDICTED IN DUNWOODY COMMERCIAL SEX ENTERPRISE CASE

Husband and Wife Allegedly at Helm of Elaborate Operation

Decatur, Ga.-  A DeKalb County Grand Jury has indicted a local couple and three others on charges of racketeering and conspiracy in connection with a commercial sex enterprise operating out of Dunwoody and other metro areas. Samuel Leon Crenshaw and his wife Darliene L. Crenshaw of Marietta, are each charged with one count of Violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).  George Moore, Tara Lee Gilleo, and Giovene Burkhalter face identical RICO charges for their alleged activities within the organization. 57 other men and women are charged with either prostitution or pandering in the 58-count indictment returned on Tuesday.

According to the investigation, the Crenshaws operated the sex enterprise under the business names “Gold Club” and later “Lipstick and Shoes.” The indictment alleges that between February of 2015 and August of 2016, the Defendants, using false information, leased units at four Dunwoody apartment complexes for the purpose of pairing “models” and clients to engage in paid sexual activities. The co-defendants are accused of conspiring to recruit employees, advertise, secure locations, and manage appointments and payment systems in furtherance of their criminal enterprise.  The defendants were arrested following a months-long investigation and subsequent sting by the Dunwoody Police Department in December 2016.

The case will be prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Sexual Exploitation and Crimes Against Children Unit (SECAC). A trial date has not yet been set
