Man convicted of fatally striking DJ changing tire

DECATUR, GA – A DeKalb County jury on Friday found Andrew James Spencer guilty of killing a man changing a woman’s flat tire along I-20.
Spencer was convicted of two counts of first-degree homicide by vehicle, two counts of hit and run, and one count of reckless driving. The jury found Spencer struck Kleon Cadogan and Devon Witter on Feb. 19, 2014 on I-20 near Panola Road. Cadogan, a local DJ, died from his injuries and Witter was seriously injured.
Spencer was arrested after another driver observed the hit and run, followed him along the interstate and called 911.
Spencer will be sentenced at a later time.
