Decatur, Ga.- DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston invites the community to join her for the 9th Annual Love Run 5K on Saturday, February 24, 2024 to promote awareness of teen dating violence and raise funds for domestic violence survivors. The Love Run is a family-friendly race open to runners and walkers, and commemorates Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

The Love Run will kick-off from Decatur Square located at 101 E. Court St., Decatur, GA 30030 at 8:30 a.m. This Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race Qualifier race is electronically chip-timed as participants follow a fast-paced course through historic downtown Decatur.

All registered participants receive a signature long sleeve shirt and race medal. In-person packet pickup will take place on Friday, February 23 from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Big Peach Running Co. Decatur, and before the event on Saturday at the race location in Downtown Decatur. All preregistered participants also receive a $10 off coupon to Big Peach at packet pickup.

“We must continue to shine a spotlight on this disturbing epidemic impacting our youth,” said DA Boston, who created the Love Run 5K in 2016 while serving as DeKalb County Solicitor-General. “Educating our community about the cycle of intimate partner violence plays an integral role in prevention. We hope to raise awareness and save lives.”

Proceeds from the Love Run benefit the important work of the Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence (WRC). Since its inception, the Love Run has raised more than $80,000 for WRC.

Online registration is $35 and will be open until 12 p.m. on Thursday, February 22 at http://bit.ly/2XyeWst. A 10% discount is available for groups with 10 or more race participants.

In-person registration will be available during packet pickup at Big Peach on Friday and starting at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday at the race location in Downtown Decatur. In-person registration is $40 and must be paid by cash or check.
