Victim Compensation Program
About the Crime Victims Compensation Program
The state of Georgia has a program to assist with crime related expenses if you are a victim of a violent crime. Financial assistance for victims of crime may be provided through the state’s Crime Victims Compensation Program.

This program assists eligible victims of violent crime with medical, funeral, crime scene clean-up, and mental health counseling expenses. Benefits that may be available include lost wages or loss of support.

Victim Compensation is a payer of last resort, meaning that all other avenues of third party resources (i.e., insurance) must be exhausted prior to the Victim Compensation program releasing any funds.
